Performance, fitness for purpose and solid resale value has helped Hino Australia maintain a strong long-term relationship with Australia’s fastest growing vehicle rental company.
Atlas Car and Truck Rental recently added another 20 Hino 300 Series 616 Autos to its rental fleet, which is used by a range of customers including those who only hold a car licence.
Atlas Car and Truck Rental General Manager Jason Murphy said the Hino 300 Series trucks were purchased because of the good experience the company has had with Hino over 20 years.
“Atlas Car and Truck Rental has been around since 1990, and we’ve been running Hino trucks on the fleet for many years,” Mr Murphy said.
“Reliability is paramount for a rental fleet, and with the Hino trucks we’ve run in the past we’ve experienced no down-time.
“The additional 20 300 Series 616 Autos fit in really well with our rental fleet – our customers are often people moving house or running various errands, so the automatic transmission and the ability to drive the truck with a car licence is a perfect fit,” he said.
Mr Murphy said the company recently sold a number of its existing Hino 300 Series trucks, and the experience has added to their reasons for sticking with the brand.
“We’ve just auctioned off a number of Hino trucks we purchased in 2006, with 250,000 kilometres on the clock, and we were very pleased with the prices we got for them,” Mr Murphy said.
“And they were all running perfectly – it was as if they were just run-in.”
The Hino 300 Series 616 models use the turbocharged and intercooled 4.0-litre common rail direct injection N04C US engine, producing 110kW and 420Nm of torque.
Like all 300 Series trucks the 616 comes standard with safety features including vehicle stability control (VSC), dual SRS airbags, four-wheel ventilated disc brakes, electronic brake force distribution (EBD) and anti-lock braking (ABS).
Atlas Car and Truck Rental was incorporated in 1990 and has combined experience in the Australian rental vehicle market of over 50 years.
Atlas has branches in the capitals and regions of Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland with new locations in Sydney, the Gold Coast and Brisbane. A Cairns branch will open in early 2015.
