The all new Hino 500 Series Wide Cab has contributed significantly to strengthened sales for Hino Australia in the three months since its March launch.
Speaking at the Brisbane Truck Show, the site of first major public display of the Wide Cab, Hino Australia General Manager of Brand and Franchise Development Bill Gillespie cited the truck’s comprehensive safety package and versatility as key factors in the high uptake from customers and dealers.
“Since its launch in March, we have experienced 53 percent increase in orders across the medium-duty category and have delivered an 8 percent increase on last year’s retail deliveries,” Mr Gillespie said.
“To date, over 230 units of the new 500 Series Wide Cab trucks have been sold.
“This exceptional adoption means the Wide Cab trucks now account for over 66 percent of the Hino medium duty category orders with the FG and FL models more than doubling their intake when compared with 2016.
“In March we experienced record orders of medium duty trucks which exceeded our internal targets and we are confident that we will meet the targets set for the year.
“With our increased presence at the Truck Show, including a range of 500 Series Wide Cabs, we expect interest and orders to remain at high levels.
“Following the launch of the 500 Series Wide Cab, we now offer the broadest range of trucks in these segments with our customers able to choose from more than 50 models.”
The Hino 500 Series Wide Cab boasts the most comprehensive active safety package of any Japanese truck in the medium duty truck category.
In an Australian-first for this class, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) is now fitted as standard across the new Wide Cab range.
Another class-leading active safety feature is the standard inclusion of a microphone equipped and night vision enabled reverse camera.
Like all Hino trucks, the 500 Series Wide Cabs are supported by Hino Advantage, a suite of innovative business building solutions that can dramatically reduce costs and improve operational efficiency for the customer.
The Hino Advantage suite of services include a dedicated customer care centre, access to Hino Genuine parts and accessories, factory-trained service technicians, roadside assistance, Hino Telematics, fleet training, capped price servicing and Hino Financial Services.
The range of Wide Cab models include the FG, GH, FL and FM, all of which are available at Hino dealerships nationwide.
