The all-new Hino 700 Series is the safest Hino truck ever and meets Euro 6 exhaust emission standards while providing a wider range of axle configurations, transmissions and engine power ratings.

With an eye-catching new interior and exterior, the all-new Hino 700 Series offers increased comfort and practicality for drivers.
“In designing the all-new 700 Series, there has been considerable focus on the needs of the driver, as the cab is their home away from home as well as their office,” said Mr Petrovski.
Safest Hino truck ever
The all-new Hino 700 Series boasts the most comprehensive safety package ever offered in a Hino truck.
For the first time, Driver Monitor (DM) has been added to the Hino SmartSafe package, which is a comprehensive safety package featuring driver assist technologies that take an active focus on protecting the lives of drivers, passengers and other road users.
Hino SmartSafe also includes a Pre-Collision System (PCS) with Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Pedestrian Detection (PD), Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS), Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Reverse Camera and a suite of other standard safety features.
“At Hino, safety is a central design principle, and all 4x2, 6x2, and 6x4 variants of the all-new 700 Series range are equipped with Hino SmartSafe,” said Mr Petrovski.
“The 700 Series answers a lot of the major safety issues that confront the transport industry and other road users, with the implementation of advanced driver assist technologies, Hino SmartSafe, and, more specifically the introduction of Driver Monitor.”
Cleanest heavy-duty Hino ever with Euro 6 emissions
Like the 500 Series Standard Cab, the all-new Hino 700 Series exceeds the current Australian exhaust emission standards.
“The new models meet Euro 6 exhaust emission standards before they are legislated in Australia,” said Mr Petrovski.
Expanded model range is ready for the future
With a wider range of axle configurations, an increased number of engine power ratings and an exclusively two-pedal transmission line-up, the all-new 700 Series models suit more customer applications and operating requirements.
A new Euro 6 A09C nine litre engine is now available, in addition to the well-proven, existing Hino E13C 13 litre engine.
Key new models include 4x2 and 6x2 rigid trucks suitable for distribution applications and new 6x4 and 8x4 models, which will cater for customers at the heavier end of the distribution and vocational application spectrum.
“The all-new 700 Series is built as a vehicle for today and for the future – Australian customers clearly prefer the convenience of two-pedal transmissions, which is why the expanded Hino 700 Series model range is now available with either a true automatic or an automated manual transmission (AMT), which are matched to their respective engine power ratings,” said Mr Petrovski.
Increased performance courtesy of more engine and transmission options
The nine litre models begin with the FH 1832 4x2, FR 2632 6x2 and FS 2632 6x4 models, which feature the A09C-VP engine that delivers 320hp (235kW) and 1275Nm of torque delivered from 1,100 – 1,600rpm, and is mated to the six-speed Allison 3200 true automatic transmission.
Meanwhile, the 700 Series FY 3036 8x4 model features a more powerful version of the nine litre engine – the A09C-VN - with 360hp (265kW) and 1569Nm of torque delivered from 1,100 – 1,600rpm, and is matched to the larger and stronger six-speed Allison 4440 true automatic transmission.
The SH 1845 4x2 models will feature the E13C-BL engine with the same peak power of 450hp (331kW) and 2157 Nm of torque.
The new 700 Series SS 2848 6x4 prime mover, FS 2848 6x4 rigid and FY 3248 8x4 rigid models utilise the E13C-BK engine with peak horsepower of 480hp (353kW) and 2157Nm of torque, which is now available across a wider range between 1,000 and 1,500rpm, offering the opportunity for improved drivability and fuel efficiency.
The E13C engines are matched to the latest generation of the ZF 16-speed Automated Manual Transmission (AMT), the TraXon TX 2441TO.
Improved braking performance
All 700 Series models now feature an Electronic Brake System (EBS) combined with the Hino Taper Roller brake system, which enhances braking performance and reduces maintenance requirements.
Standard auxiliary braking on all 700 Series models is courtesy of the ‘Jake Brake’ (or Jacobs Engine Brake®) which improves driveability and operational efficiency.
The Hino 700 Series is the only Japanese heavy-duty truck with a Jacobs Engine Brake®.
All 13 litre models receive additional auxiliary braking from the ZF intarder, which is integrated into the rear of the 16-speed ZF TraXon TX 2441TO Automated Manual Transmission (AMT).
“Superior auxiliary braking is a feature which is highly valued by drivers and improves the ease of operation while driving in regional or metropolitan applications, and importantly offers confident control of the vehicle during downhill descents,” continued Mr Petrovski.
Comfort and practicality features of new interior
Like its 500 Series Standard Cab stablemate, the all-new 700 Series continues the Hino trend towards a more functional and contemporary interior, with a balance of carbon, silver and earthy tones.
“The all-new 700 Series sets a new standard for the interior of heavy-duty Japanese-built trucks with next-generation ISRI 6860 NTS2 driver’s seat, UN ECE R29 compliant cab and a highly intelligent multimedia unit,” said Mr Petrovski.
The distinctive new bold ‘face’ includes a new enlarged chrome grille and Hino marque, while Light Emitting Diode (LED) headlamps with Daytime Running Lamps set in the bumper, and polished Alcoa alloy wheels are standard.
